You have spent a lot of time creating a new website, now you need to start building traffic to your pages.

First of all, you do not need to buy any packages that guarantee traffic. These types of services can be very expensive and very few can guarantee you will receive traffic and most of the time it is not quality traffic.

You don’t want just any visitors, but you want to bring in targeted quality traffic.

Free Traffic To Your Site

If you have not already, create a sitemap then open a free account with Google Webmaster Tools and submit your URL.

If you need help with creating a sitemap and adding your URL to the search engine, check out my website promotion information.

If you have a website, add a blog to it. Do keyword research and use a long tail key phrase (4 words or more) to write blog posts about.

Because the long tail key phrases are not highly search, many times it is easier to achieve higher rankings in the search engines.

Do not use just the search engines to help you generate all your site traffic.

You need to diversify.

Write Articles – submit to the many different article directories. Make sure when you submit to the different directories, you change the article about 60% so each submission will be original content.

E-mails – Add a signature line to all outgoing e-mails.

Write Press Releases for you blog or website.

YouTube – at the beginning and end of the videos you create, put your site URL. Don’t forget when you set up your account to put in your blog/site URL.

Use a ping service – Like Ping-o-matic.com

Use forums to find out what some of the most commonly asked questions within your niche and create blog post to answer them.

When writing a blog post or even a new web page, use the title to ask a question.

These are just a few of the ideas for getting traffic to your website.

You can find many more by going to How Do I Generate Traffic To My Website?

If you build it, they will come is not true anymore with the every changing Internet.

Don’t forget to take a look at your traffic stats every so often to see which type of traffic building promotion is working for you.

There are many ebooks about learning how to create a new website, but many of them do not have all the information you need to start creating your own.

Creating my own website was a challenge and I found out to late that it did not need to be.

Even though my website tutorial site goes into the in-depth information, many people have asked for a basic quick start guide of how to start creating your own site.

So I put together a complete guide to teach beginners how to make their own website.

Creating Your Own Website

I downloaded a couple of the free ebooks that “stated” they were quick start tutorials. After reading through them, I found they were lacking in even giving the basics to make your own site.

My ebook shows you the how to and where you can:

Research Profitable Niche Ideas

Do Keyword Research

Spy on Your Competitors

The Best Software to Use

Find Affordable Web Hosting

Generate Quality Traffic

Start My Own Site?

Don’t worry, this free basic guide to building your own website explains everything from A to Z.

It is free and in PDF format, so you can get started right away on making your own site.

I can fully understand the thought of creating a simple site might make you cringe but don’t worry as I took all the guess work out of it.

In hindsight while creating, building and designing my own site it was very frustrating and during the process wished I would have had a quick start guide to help me along.

It really doesn’t matter why you are building your own website. Using my quick start guide can help take a lot of the frustration out when you start.

I spent a lot of time learning about the process of creating my own website and this ebook takes all the research I learned over the years and gives you all the information needed so you won’t have the same frustration I encountered.

While Creating My Own Site..

There was a lot of information on website creation but most of it only gives you different pieces of the puzzle.

My free quick start guide gives you all the pieces to the puzzle of how to create your own website.

Complete Guide to Creating a Website

Once you have downloaded and read though the information, please feel free to contact me with any questions you have.

To Your Success,

Getting indexed by Google fast is every blogger and webmasters dream.

As everyone knows, Google is the biggest search engine online and once your new site is indexed by them, the other engines will find you.

The most obvious way is to use Google to get your website/blog noticed.

The How To

Google Webmaster Tools – sign up for a free account and add your site map. To help you get started, take a look at the information about adding a site. There are also great information called Webmaster Guidelines to help you understand what the search engine wants from your new site.

Google Analytics – Install this free website analytical code on your site to track your visitors.

You can also sign up for Google Adsense as long as your site is not against the TOS (terms of service). You don’t have to start putting ads on your site, but can help with getting your site crawled by Google bot.

Article Submission – Sign up with ezinearticles.com (one of the biggest directories) and write a good quality keyword rich article within your niche. Take advantage of the resource box and put a few links to your new site. Don’t just add a link to your homepage, but also put a link to one of the sub-pages (if it is relevant to your article).

Find a forum that is within your niche and once you sign up, place a link to your website within the signature area and answer questions within the forum. Sometimes this does not work as many of the forums are starting to block signatures until you have so many posts. But if within your niche, keep answering questions until you reach it.

Find blogs that are related to your website niche and leave quality comments on them. Most webmasters will let you leave a link to your website.

YouTube – Create an account about your niche and create an informative video. You can use the info area to place a link back to your site.

Squidoo page – create a lens and place useful information for people to link back to your site.

Yahoo Answers – You can answer questions and use the source area to link back to your site.

Remember, when you are leaving your links at different places online, make sure you are not spamming as they will be deleted very quickly.

By using the above techniques, many people have been indexed in less than 24 hour and others it has taken weeks. So your results will vary.

You can use Google Webmaster Tools and the Analytical Stats to see how you are progressing.

If you are trying to rank for a very competitive keyword, it may take a long time to show up on the top pages.

While creating your website – the most difficult challenge that many webmaster have is…

Time Management.

It does not matter if you are an experienced webmaster or just starting out. The time restraints you have while building can make the best laid plans can go on the wayside.

We all have had the problem of jumping from one project to another to another and after the week (or month) you start to realize you did not accomplish anything you wanted to.

1. Write down your tasks

The many tasks you do while building your site take on a whole different meaning when you may only have a few hours a day to actually accomplish them.

To help with the time management challenge, write down the jobs you need to work on for your site. Whether this is link building, blogging, create new pages in your web site, keyword research that needs to be done, etc.

This information needs to be written down where you can view it daily to help keep the time monster harnessed.

I have cleaned off everything not important from my computer desktop and created a new folder called: TASKS TO DO. I capitalize this and put it right in the middle of the computer screen so it catchs my eye over all the other stuff also on my desktop.

I then open my MSWord and title the page: Tasks To Do.

If you are working on a few different websites, try to keep the information on 1 page. Just bold the website names, then put the task below them.

By keeping everything on one page, you can do a quick scan of what needs to be done.

2. Prioritize

This may sound difficult and somewhat time consuming but can help you “gain time” while working on your projects.

An easy way to help you prioritize your projects is to use a two week cycle. Set aside one day to work on a certain project.

The two biggest projects for building a website is creating new content and link building.

Here is a breakdown of how you could prioritize a two week period for creating new blog post, web pages and link building.

Monday: Research for keywords to be used in a new web page or blog post. Can’t think of any? Study your website analytical stats or look at your competition.

Tuesday: Write a few sentences of information you would like to put into the new web page and see what others have written about using the main keyword.

Wednesday: Use the information from Monday and Tuesday to create your new page or blog.

Thursday: Use Keyword Research from Monday to create an article for directories to help with link building. Don’t send to article directory until tomorrow.

Friday: Re-read your web page and article, make any changes.

Saturday: Go through your “To Do List” and see if you able to cross anything off the list.

Sunday: Enjoy your time with family, friends, a good book or movie. Take time for YOU!

Monday: Look for a few other sites you could link with and contact their webmaster.

Tuesday: Research other avenues to help you get quality links: social media, article directories, etc.

Wednesday: Look at your competition. (this could be done everyday, but can get very time consuming). Look at older web pages and blog posts to see the keywords they used as it may help create you create a new blog post or page with updated information. (main keyword could be researched next Monday)

Thursday: Research for that new e-book or any other big project that you would like to tackle in the next couple of weeks.

Friday: Take a look at your “To Do List”. Add new projects and take away any completed.

Saturday: Search around for new content for your site/blog.

Sunday: Enjoy your time with family, friends, a good book or movie. Take time for YOU!

3. Keep Up With The List

No matter what type of projects are on the list, they still have steps that need to be done in order before they are completed. By thinking of what order the steps needs to be done, it will help you build your 2 week cycle.

By focusing on one or two project at a time in a two week cycle, you will find your projects will be done and at the end of the week (or month) you have the satisfaction of knowing you have managed your time.

If you have been on the fence about purchasing SBI to help build your own site, this would be a great time to do it.

You can choose to buy a Site Build It site for yourself and give one to a friend, or you can keep them both for yourself. You can work on one website and use the other one up to 9 months later.

NOTE: If you give one to a friend any future SBI purchases they make are credited to your affiliate code! Help someone grow their business by giving them a Site Build It site, AND grow your own business at the same time.

I started using SBI! over a year ago and created this site Ways to Make Money at Home.

After using XSitePro to make my Create A Website Tutorial site using SBI was very different. By having everything at my fingertips I was not jumping from site to website to help with keyword research, competition, and also saved money because of the built in autoresponder just to name a few things that they offer.

Don’t miss out! Take advantage of the SBI! Buy One Get One Free Offer before it’s gone.

If you are looking for affordable, cheap web hosting you need to cut out the middle man.

Not sure what the “middle man” even is?

In one word: Reseller

There are many people that are reselling web hosting and domain names. Many times they are not easy to spot when you are looking for a cheap company to buy from.

First you need to do some research.

If you are on a website and they keep pushing a hosting service then once you open their hosting company leave the site open and do more searches on affordable hosting.

Do a side-by-side comparison of the prices. Not only of the hosting services they offer but also check out:

1. How much is it to purchase their domain name?

2. What does it cost to buy a domain name for a longer term (2-3 years)

3. How much is it to renew the name?

4. How much does it cost to buy private registration?

5. How long has the company been around?

6. What is the cost of their website builder? Even though you may not be using this service, you are just looking to see how their prices compare.

7. Check out their uptime. If you are going to all this time and effort of creating a site, you want to make sure that your site will be seen 99% of the time. Yes, all web hosting companies may be down for maintenance and unforeseen circumstances, but if your site is down more than it is online then you will be losing time and money.

8. Are other customers happy with them?

If you are purchasing a website builder or a website-in-a-box, many times you MUST use a certain hosting company. Sure the website might be free, but you may be paying 2 or 3 times the cost of hosting for a year. So how “free” is the website?

If you are buying auto insurance or even house insurance, you will price compare, same goes for your hosting.

One way to possibly spot a reseller is the way their home page looks. Many of the hosting companies that are resellers have a template that looks much like the main company’s page.

Don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against the reselling of domain names and hosting, but I have seen quite a few “hosting companies” that are gouging their clients with prices.

If people would just do a little research, they could save themselves possible hundreds of dollars a year.

So take a little time to research for your webhosting. There are many great and affordable plans to fit almost any budget out there.

One company I do like is GoDaddy.com. They have very affordable (some may say cheap) hosting plans for under US$5.00 a month and if you purchase a hosting plan from them you can get a domain name for US$1.99, which makes it more of a great deal.

Save money = Cut out the “middle man” on your webhosting and domain name needs.

With so many people reselling hosting and domain names. How do you really know if you are getting a good price when you purchase a domain name?

Research!

That is the only way to see if you really are getting a good deal.

Not to long ago domain names were over $30 for a year and there still are companies charging that ridiculous price.

There are many companies that have special pricing for buying a name. You can purchase a domain if you buy any non-domain product (like webhosting). This may be a good deal if you are looking for more than just a domain.

Saving a few dollars may not seem to important for you but remember when you have to renew the domain you will have to pay the going rate at that time.

That is why I try to research when I am buying something expessily if I will have a reoccuring charge every year on a product.

Before you purchase the name, take a look to see if you can get a discount on multiple year purchase or multiple domain purchases. Many of the domain registars will do that.

If you are planning on building a website and believing that purchasing a domain name is the first step.

It is not.

Take your time to research different names. Even by moving the words around can help you with a great domain name. Yes, most of the one and two word names are gone (not all but most). But you can still find a great name at an affordable price.
