Have you found a few niche ideas, but are not sure if they are could be profitable. Here are a few quick ways to see if they possibly could be.

1. Google or Yahoo: I use Google because they are the industry leader (for now anyway). Type in what your niche idea is and take a look on the right hand column. Do you see advertising there? If you do, keep clicking on the link for how many pages there are. If there are people buying advertising using adsense then their has to be money within that market someplace or the merchants (people) would not be paying for the ad space.

2. Auction places: Are the products you will be selling or promoting being sold on eBay, Yahoo or other auction sites?

3. Engine Search checking: What ever you are selling, type the name into the search engine using quotes around the name. Example… “name of your product”.

4. Have you seen in forums, blogs or around the internet that people are looking for this information or products?

5. Check out your competitors.

Hopefully the above items will help you find out if the niche your looking to get into may be profitable. Just remember also, the above ways are not the only ways. You may have a great idea for a website and find out that there is not much competition, but you still will need to see if you can find affiliate programs to join, unless you are selling your own product of course.

Most of the time people get stuck on trying to find ideas for a website. If you are totally lost and can’t think of even where to start looking, I have created a list of many ideas and ways to help you in finding a niche or niches.

It seems some people that decide to create a website already know what the theme will be. Maybe because they have an offline business already and want to bring it online, or they have a love for certain types of animals, a hobby (fishing, crafts, knitting, collecting items, etc..) but if you have no idea for any niches, then first of all don’t stress over it. You will be able to find your niche if you take a little time and put some thought into it.

Surf the web. It may seem crazy, but surfing the Internet can help you locate an idea. Find out what people are talking about and having problems with.

Maybe they are having problems locating certain information or products, but you know where to find that information and/or product.

A person may have been diagnosed with a medical condition and you have the same one, could the information you have found be useful to other people?

Are you great with managing money and could help other people with your information on how to save money, save on grocery bills, or everyday items?

Are you a parent who is helping a child get ready for college and all of the different things you have had to do before they even went? Where to find scholarships, places to find the federal money to help, grants that may be available, and so on…

Maybe you are mother or soon to be and have found different products that could help with other mothers (or soon to be). Information on breast pumps, coping with a colic baby, tips to help new mothers, places to find great looking maternity clothes or undergarments, a great product to use to help with stain removal…

Take a moment and think of your “how to”. What can you teach other people?

The term “how to (what ever it is)” is typed in thousands of times per day into the search engines. I bet you have your “how to” that you can help other people.

Have any niche website ideas? Part two: Ways to find out if it is profitable
